Beaded Jewelry - a little history.
The art of making hand beaded jewelry has been around for centuries. Egyptians had intricate beaded designs for their headpieces, bracelets, collars, and other ornamentation. Most of these techniques are used in today's designs.
American Indians used beads in many of their brightly colored headdresses. Their horses could also be decorated with the beads. Beaded jewelry was sold and traded in the old west. The craft of beading was a widely practiced art among the American Indians. American Indians still use their craft of beading jewelry today.
Different textiles for the beads have made them more colorful, brighter and lighter weight for some of the beads. Certain textiles of beads also make beaded jewelry more affordable.
